I have my cosmetology license, but Ive been out of the field for four years, need advice!?

I got my cosmetology license in 2006, and my first job at a salon was a bust and killed my self esteem, not due to my abilities just due to work enviornment. Since then, I spent years in school and got my paramedic license. I have been working on an ambulance for 3 years now, and I recently had a daughter. EMS is not a family friendly career so Id really like to get back into a salon. Im just wondering if anyone knows any refresher courses or any advice on getting back into the swing of things! Ive given cuts to friends and family members but I definently need some refreshment. Thanks in advance!
