When you get tan...?

okay so lets say I went tanning and got pretty tan, then I went tanning with a bathing suit on and had lines... would the lines eventually go away or would I have to wait to be completly white again to get the lines to go away. I'm really tan now and I don't want lines all over me so I was wondering... I know this is really confusing but please try to answer it as bst as you can. Haha, thanks soo much.
