Sore throat possibilities?

I have some white dots on the roof of my mouth and I can actually feel them with my tongue. I don't think it is strep throat and I don't know the technicalities but I thought that because I got my tonsils out I couldn't get strep and stuff like that. Does anybody know what I might have?
